The Chickasaw Cultural Center partnered with the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian to offer a traveling exhibition to the Holisso: The Center for Study of Chickasaw History and Culture.
Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Nation's Armed Forces tells the remarkable history of the brave First American and Alaska Native men and women who have served in the United States military. First American people have participated in every major U.S. military encounter from the Revolutionary War to modern conflicts in the Middle East, serving at a higher rate in proportion to their population than any other ethnic group.
The contributions of First American servicemen and women have been largely unrecognized. The exhibit also calls attention to the creation of the National Native American Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the museum on the National Mall.
