On June 29, 2019 the Chickasaw Cultural Center hosted the first Native Culinary Expo showcasing First American culture and history through inspired ingredients and cuisine. The all-star chef roster included Loretta Barrett Oden (Potawatomi), Dave Smoke McCluskey (Mohawk) and Christian Bennett (Nez Perce). The chefs hosted cooking demonstrations and participated in a Q&A sessions. Students from the Chickasaw Arts Academy culinary program participated and assisted throughout the day. Guests enjoyed food demonstrations and tasting booths in the Anoli’ Theater and the Chikasha Inchokka’ Traditional Village.
