About the Artist

Kate Wiley is the owner and creator of Taloa Oka' Studio. Taloa oka' means “singing water” in the Chickasaw language. The fluid sound of rain brings her great joy and peace. She hopes her art will bring that feeling to others as well.

Kate has been a dancer for almost 30 years. In 2019, she began her venture into the world of paint. She quickly fell in love with fluid acrylics and the ease in which they moved for her. Kate started exhibiting in art shows in 2021. Upon hearing her paintings described as having beautiful movement, it dawned on her that she was conveying the art of dance through her works. She has been able to take her lifelong love of dance and translate it into remarkable works of art.

Kate lives in rural Oklahoma with her husband and three children.
