Canine Guardians
Cheyenne Durant, storytelling specialist for the Chickasaw Nation Arts and Humanities Division, shares stories of dogs, such as Ofi Tohbi Ishto, and how they became guardians on earth and in the stars according to different tribal groups. For the Chickasaw people, the story of the Ofi Tohbi Ishto passes down qualities, such as loyalty, strength and courage, and affirms our cultural identity. Join along as we learn about the importance of dogs and their connections to the world around us.
