Eagle Watch

JANUARY 25, 2025 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Experience the Eagle Watch, Saturday, Jan. 25! This special event is a collaboration between the National Park Service, Chickasaw National Recreation Area and the Chickasaw Cultural Center to highlight this magnificent bird of prey, honored as our national symbol.

The tour begins at 9 a.m. inside Travertine Nature Center in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Guests will join a ranger for a lighthearted, educational presentation about the bald eagle.

Following the presentation, visitors will travel in their own vehicles to the Buckhorn for eagle spotting. Visitors are encouraged to bring binoculars and spotting scopes will be set up in designated locations. Three spotters will be available to help locate any eagles.

Following the eagle spotting, visit the Chickasaw Cultural Center for various free eagle-themed activities available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. including:

-Eagle cookies by Aaimpaꞌ Café
-3:00 p.m. American Eagle film (not rated; 52 min)
