"The Crow" presented by Daniel Worchester

Chickasaw author and artist Daniel Worchester returns to share a second installment of his original poems and  stories.

Biography:

Daniel Worchester is an accomplished Chickasaw artist, bladesmith and author. His time as a child was spent living on his grandparent's original allotment north of Pontotoc, Oklahoma. It was during this time, Worchester developed a lifelong desire and connection to the land and his Chickasaw heritage. He is an accomplished bladesmith who forges works of art by hand using found objects such as old wagon springs, tools and steel files. Worchester creates one-of-a kind knives made with loving precision. His work has won many accolades at major arts shows, including eight first place awards from the Santa Fe Indian Market in New Mexico. Worchester's knives have also gained national attention by being exhibited at many major museums across the United States. He has also authored the book, "The Crow." Throughout his adult life, Worchester has been active in supporting Southeastern Indian art initiatives. He has served as an ambassador of great dignity and respect for the Chickasaw Nation through his many travels representing the art of bladesmithing. Worchester was inducted into the Chickasaw Hall of Fame in 2009.
